Is it too late to get a new FMC? I can't stand Sarai. "I am Princess Sarai Al-Khatib. You bow to me." She said this to a god who was trying to protect her from running off into a sandstorm and dying. Ugh!

This is intense!

I just love this book and h uncomfortable hilarious situations Isla finds herself in.

This book just goes on and on and on. I'm not sure I will finish it. Half of it could have been taken out.

So far, I believe the female protagonist is a bad guy. I think she is supposed to be a good guy that does bad things to keep her sister safe but when you kill your "good friend " and a whole building full of people, you're the bad guy. Keeping her sister safe is just selfish at this point.
I don't like her.

I'm just now remembering events of this story. I wish all authors would write recaps or summarize of the stories so we can refresh our memories. This is one of the reasons I try to wait for at least two books to be out before I start reading a series.

I'm not sure I like Elowyn. I like Sion even though he's a bad guy.

I love the humor.

This author's magical and spiritual knowledge astounds me.

The pace is so slow on this that I'm struggling to keep interested.

The opening scene made me go look up the author because I was sure a man wrote it but I was wrong. I'm trying to stick with it because my two previous books were DNF which is rare for me and I don't want it to become a thing.

This entire book has given me anxiety. They take one step forward and three steps back. The bad guys are always way ahead of them in strategy and it's frustrating and heartbreaking.

This book is heartbreaking.

I can't keep interested at all. Daiken is like a caveman and Val is the stereotypical idiot who runs from the good (ish) guy towards really bad guys who want to kill her. I can't do another 200 pages of her running and getting saved by him.
This series is my least favorite out of Tana Stone's series.

I don't think I can read any more of this. The dialogue is clunky and the male characters are just horned out cavemen.

Kate is too passive. Vaxa tells her to just obey him and she's okay with that. I hope she gets a backbone or leaves him.

I'm following the progress of their travel on the map. The map is beautiful and detailed but I wish I had something to show scale. It took days to sail somewhere that looked like it should take half a day so it's confusing to me.

I'm getting Hallmark movie vibes with a shifter twist so far. I hope that changes soon.

WHOA! That just took a really sharp turn!

This starts out funny and awkward. I love the awkward parts in this story.

I'm having a had time staying interested in this book. A lot of it is the large amounts of introspection that detracs and distracts. I find myself skipping over paragraphs of introspection. Too much introspection is my pet peeve.

This book is so tragic but so good. To think Nora Roberts wrote this years before the pandemic yet got so much right.

I can't put my finger on what is bothering me about this book. Maybe it's the excess thinking or the not asking precise questions but something is making me want to just stop reading it.

I'm trying so hard to like this book because I enjoyed the first one so much, but it's dragging. The romance is just blah. I keep putting the book down to do other things. I just can't get into it.

The pace of this book is slow. I'm not sure I can keep reading it if the pace doesn't pick up. Also, the main character needs a personality.

I'm still struggling with this book. I absolutely abhor Scarlett. Everyone seems to adore her and fall all over themselves to take care of her even though she is rude and combative with everyone and she doesn't even try to spend time or help her friends. She's an awful person.

Right off the back, I don't like Scarlett. I think she is supposed to appeal to the reader as a strong wee Oman who thumbs hr nose at the misogynistic roles of women, but instead, she comes off as arrogant and she argues just to argue and she is rude. There is a difference between a strong woman and a shrew. Scarlett is a shrew. If she were a man, I'd knee her in the nuts.

I love this series but not this book. It's making me angry. I abhor stories where they are searching for something with very little time to find it, and they have to complete task after task and jump through hoops. It's just a waste of time. I'm betting the entire book will be like this up until the very end.

After starting and quitting a few disappointing books, I wasn't expecting much from this one, but I really like it. The main character is a stubborn but isn't that stupid kind of stubborn where she smarts off to the wrong person. She knows when to shut it.

I'm not quite sure what I think about this book yet. Her thoughts are pretty funny but her insolence is too much and makes me think she's an idiot and reckless. It's very immature. Also, some of the conversations are a bit overdone and annoying.
