J.j. is on page 43 of 243 of The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed
Feeling better about my approach to fatherhood based upon snippets such as, “The good news is that autonomy-supportive parenting tends to strengthen bonds between child and parent, while controlling practices weaken them.”

J.j. is on page 65 of 288 of Why Write?: A Master Class on the Art of Writing and Why it Matters
Mentioning Hunter S. Thompson at the start sucked me into this book. Tough call as to whether reading about writing is more enjoyable than writing itself.

J.j. is on page 91 of 137 of Square One: The Foundations of Knowledge
"Roughly speaking, rationalists claim that some knowledge exists prior to any sensory data, and in some cases, theories can be known to be true despite empirical evidence to the contrary. Empiricists claim that knowledge is ultimately based on sensory information we gather about the world, and we must experience the world before we can understand it."

It seems, like the author, I'm in the rationalists camp.
