MIC DROP 😮
Andy Crouch has done it again.
This man has sought and plummeted deep into the treasures of wisdom, and applies it to our real every day modern life with such acuteness that is unmatched by any voice I have yet heard. This is going to be an essential read for my teenage kids, probably as well as The Life We’re Looking For.
I am astonished and inspired. I love this writer.

And a weak voice said, quietly, but firmly, ‘I am not a poor creature.’ The abbot heard someone stand up…”

A first time, and thoroughly enjoying. In still discovering my book taste, I think this confirms for me that I love flowery language (nod to Dickens) and lovable characters (welcome Anne to my book character friends)

“When the Lord God did not call my name, I might have called His name — but I did not. There you have the difference between greatness and mediocrity… But it’s nice for a mediocre man to know that greatness must be the loneliest state in the world… you are alone to make your choice. On one side you have warmth and companionship and sweet understanding, and on the other — cold, lonely greatness.”
