The King of Surreal Horror/Fantasy is blowing it out of the water (the deepest of depths) as usual. I'm loving how the wide expanses of powerful gods aren't inherently malicious. They might be hard to understand for simple mortals, but oddly...human, in some ways.

Showing my comments in Notes & Highlights as well :) Can't wait to read on.(Odd, my notes & highlights aren't showing. Will toggle when I see them

Oh my, things are getting super intense! I'm really interested and feel such mixed emotions about the protagonists here.

And the possible antagonist. That monster fight was AWESOME!

This is quite a bit darker than even many adult fantasy novels I've read. So much death and no one bats an eye. It seems somewhat off, but... I also feel like that's just how it is here and makes sense. I don't know if that makes me sound apathetic. I do feel sad, especially for certain deaths. But... hm. I don't know how to explain it.

Aw.. poor Shirou, I love the crow to be honest, though I'm a bit bias toward crows and foxes. Love this tale so far. It's very intriguing.

I truly don't believe Hayate is evil, to be honest. The way he butchers the truly evil, but offers the innocent a painless, peaceful death really struck me. He could rip to shreds the innocent, but he doesn't. Truly, I see him as a well-written antihero. The visit to the Well of Lost Souls really sealed the deal for me.

Fenrir's tale strikes me as a really tragic one, and it shows the folly and flaw of the gods. I like how in Nordic mythology, gods are not depicted as 'perfect'. They really shouldn't be, in my personal opinion. There is no such thing as perfect. The cruelty and just... fear toward someone (Fenrir) who previously wished them no ill will really emphasizes this.

This series is so unbelievably amazing, honestly. I have to unfortunately call it a night, but I want to just continue. It'll be on my mind for a while, I'm sure.

Oh my, things are getting very intense. Not to mention, a lot of things to weigh on and consider when it comes to connections to life, as well. Really enjoying this so far, not surprised as this series continues to be excellent.
