Why tf are there so many unnecessary love scenes like omg y'all are amidst an ongoing war ffs 😭 I'm fed up and annoyed man... it's soo cringey and yucky 🤢 just give me the damn plot 😭😭

I have been too eager and excited to read this book–start this series–for a long time, but it has been going too slowly for my liking... There's just tooooo much of narratives - describing this, detailing that, explaining this and that, what's over there, what is the building made of, how's Bryce's backside looking now, and then later, etc etc. I'm on Chapter 18 and there have only been 4-5 chapters worth of actions

I'm almost half way through and WTAF.
Here're my thoughts for the book until now [there're MAJOR SPOILERS]:
If you've read my review of Ruin and Rising, you'd know I loved The Darkling and that I wished for an alternate ending for him, that I wanted more for him. But, honestly, I absolutely did not expect, and HATE it, that Bardugo decided to freaking REVIVE him!!!??
Second, I HATE BARDUGO FOR WHAT SHE DID TO DAVID.
