I started listening this book after reading Anne Hillerman’s Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito novels. I couldn’t get past the narrator, so I tried reading the book. I found the writing choppy and hard to follow. The characters were hard to engage with. I’ve tried 3 times, but just can’t do it.

Very good. I’m curious about how the characters from different time periods will intersect. Reading for an Equity book club where I’m looking forward to the learning and discussion.

This is my to go book to read from each morning.

I really did not like this book. There wasn’t anyone to root for, misogyny and racism abound. I was reading it for a book club and finally decided I wouldn’t finish it when I couldn’t read one more passage about rape.

I love this book. So insightful, an interesting read with some great ideas for how I want to show up when I gather people.
