I don’t know if I even want to finish this book. Jauhar is creepy in the way he describes women and thinks too highly of himself.

The language is sooooooooo flowery and if I didn’t want to see the clixmax and the denouement I would’ve already given up.

Who says, “as if a new virus was blooming”? Who? A virus? Bloom? (Yes, even outside the context of COVID)

This is even more difficult to read than Sapiens. I have so many emotions about this book and I am wondering if it is still even worth reading until the very end.

I am annoyed. Why can’t he just say that Sapiens has survived because of institutions? I don’t think it requires that lengthy of an explanation.

THE COVER IS DECEIVING. THIS IS A HEAVY READ. HOW COULD YOU PUT CHARLIE BROWN WITH LINUS AND SNOOPY AND NOT EXPECT IT TO BE A LIGHT READ???

When you’re a Filipino, it is almost a given that you know “the Noli”, and even more so, Jose Rizal. I read a shortened and almost bastardized version of the book in high school, but to do Rizal – and likewise my own nation – justice, here I am, finally reading it out of my own accord.

I’m back for 2019 and after reading countless articles for university and arguably not enough full books, I’ve come to say that this year as I try to read more books recreationally, I can also proudly say that I’m now more thoughtful in the books I read and HOW I read them, and this am able to say I’m embarrassed at some of my old book reviews because I find myself to have just been so.. childish.

Oh look, I've actually accomplished my reading challenge! Let's call it a year! I'm kidding, I've got a lot of books I still want to read.

I get absolutely nothing from all the science (AHH! Natural sciences)) going around in this book, but I'll tell you something: this book is GREAT.

Watney is a great speaker and the author's timing and cadence is nearly impeccable.

So here I was reading this book like a novel, only to find out it's an anthology. University has officially taken over my brain.

I've just began reading this book, yet I am already having goosebumps. This is truly appalling, and as a Catholic (although lapsed), find this so utterly disturbing.

For the first time since I began taking on reading challenges, I did not meet my goal for this year. Instead of feeling remorse or disappointment at myself, I am quite happy with how my reading challenge this year went like, because I felt like I enjoyed the books I read this year compared to any other year.

Thank you, books of 2015.

Fantastic. I don't want to say anything more, because I don't want to end up saying too much. But I love this book. I love it, I love it. If it weren't 3am, I would finish this, but my eyes are tired. Tomorrow is another day.
