I wish there was less violence in this book. Feeling like it's mainly about cage fighting, dragon edition. Reading this for my son.

The beginning was magical and sweet with the dragon egg and hatching. However, after that, I have had to force myself through this. The first 50% of this book is based off of the plot that the main character is seeking revenge. It has *finally* tipped in scale to higher qualities of making the world a better place. Love a far more powerful plot than anger to me.

I have been doing the audio version of this. Great resource.

I had to put this book on hold after the first chapter. My daughter likes it, but it started far too violent for my taste.

I am reading this book on a suggestion from one of my children's counselors. It is a lighter read. Conversational. But it is *not* written from a Christian perspective. I find myself interacting with the words. Agreeing with some. Crossing out others and writing scripture in the margins. It's core belief: "At our core, (we) are compassionate, loving, and generous ... That we are all good inside."
