Didn’t realize this was an anthology…will still read it tho I think

Interesting details of John the Baptist and Jesus’ early ministry; as well as comments regarding Jesus’ early teachings as being cemented in both the political and social turmoil of first century Judea and resistance of these peoples against the established Jewish priestly elite in Jerusalem.

Very interesting first section, mostly historical in nature covers up to like 135 CE.

Very interesting reading, I’m finding this much more compelling than the Strobel book. Very dense though, and more historical in nature, which may be why I’m liking it more.

The intro stuff was quite long. Gonna try to look into this stuff more the book on apologetics was rly interesting…this is very much the opposite end of the spectrum.

Last chapter was rly good

The characters in this book are insufferable and the time jumping gets extremely annoying…rly not liking this right now but will finish it still

Okay the second section is really weak. The first part of the book about the archeological aspects was rly interesting. But, the second section is rly poor in the way of rigorous apologetics. I’m not sure if Strobel ever consulted a mathematician when referencing Peter Stoner’s Science Speaks, but this is just rly bad stats. More akin to a Feynman estimation game in a world where Bayesian stats doesn’t exist.

Very interesting so far…a lot of content I had not seen or heard about before…

Switching it up a bit on the non fiction angle for reading…gonna see how this one is…

The patient anecdotes are definitely crazy, but super annoying…I just want the meet not the examples dog.

These negative reviews are crazy…still gonna read it though, the pro social shame section looked very interesting.

Numinous questioning has definitely begun.
