The title of this book is very deceiving...I thought it would be a light read about a book shop, but it's extremely dark and filled with lots of issues, from self-cutting to child neglect to selective mutism. Maybe the next book I pick up will be somewhat cheerful! 🤞

I'm going to put this one aside for a while...too dark, sad & depressing and I haven't gotten that far yet. After reading Britt-Marie, I was expecting a different vibe...

I'm not enjoying this as much as I thought I would...So far, it switches topics quickly and goes from one topic/thought to the next, giving it a bit of a manic feel.

Not finding the beginning of this as gripping as Britt-Marie and there are so many similarities already - a small town that's been hurting economically, loyal residents who are devoted to staying at all costs, and a sport that glues them all together.

Reminds me somewhat of Olive Kitteridge so far...
