I wanted to give this book more than two stars. Truly. This book was like reading JLo trying to become a tejano singer... if you know you know. This is very much white lady singing Selena Quintanilla in the 90s. Main characters were cute. the spice was more like....salt and pepper. BIG broadcasting of PTSD, but i feel like it falls short on the side of healing from trauma.

You know all those things you hear about crappy nick names? Usually ones like "little bird" or "kitten" or something equally disgusting. The one in this book immediately made me want to vomit and violently throw my kindle at the person who recommended this series to me.

the prologue did NOT make me want to read this book...alas i continue to.
