This writer does a group chat sequence with the MMC and his two friends. They’re cleverly written and hilarious. And in the internal monologues of the MMC which only him and ..well..us..are privy. Noteworthy stuff like: I’d seen supermarket sashimi cut with greater precision.

It’s a dark romance and I’m only 21% in - but the FMC is spunky and also has an internal monologue/self banter that is delightful.

This book is reading slow. That usually means I don’t like something.

The plot, character development, and world building aren’t the best. I feel parts/details are rushed and I must make assumptions. I haven’t connected with any characters yet.

Why the name Loki?

A reliable narrator would be ideal.

I’m not motivated to know what’s going to happen next

This is a retelling of the Dracula mythos. It’s set in modern Europe with flashbacks throughout the Dracula’s life, except his name is Valtu. So far I’ve enjoyed it. When I first started reading and realized it was about Dracula I almost didn’t wanna read it. But I have it a few chapters and it isn’t boring or dry at all.

There are witches and vampires and other creatures still unknown to this point.

Starting the day off right with coffee and a book!

Takes place in London - for the most part it isn’t noticed but there are a few weird word choices. The world building is interesting - a supernatural world beneath a magical veil here on Earth. So far shifters, demons, wolves, pixies vampires, angels…the FMC navigates this new world beside…The Devil. That’s right. THE Devil.

The plot isn’t that interesting but somehow the story still is. :)

I really like this book. There is an innocent to it, but its still fun to read. I enjoy reading the adventures of Ender so far. It's a nice break from the dark and dank worlds I normally prowl,

This has been on my list for a while. I'm excited to really focus on it and see what the hype is about. :)

This makes me laugh a lot.

The story remains interesting and fast paced. The internal monologue and tongue and cheek pop culture references are entertaining. There is a strange sexual tension between characters and in scenes but it isn't a smut book at all. There are mentions of various mythical creatures, lore, cultures.. I enjoy the blending of all sorts of things. I don't know exactly how I feel about the main characters yet.

The story pace is fast and the main characters has a peppy tongue in cheek sass that took me a minute to get used to. Also, Sawyer has already brought his package up at least twice. With no follow up and in the wrong context both times. Unsure how I feel about this. Is he a lumberjack or is he a cowboy?! I’d like to know.

Things are falling together - my theory was off but not TOO far off!

Good plot. Good world building. Interesting characters. Overpowered magical abilities. Modest spice scenes.

This ice storm didn’t stop me and my reading! In fact, it gave me an excuse to read MORE! Love it!

I’m in the mood to read the Children of the Gods series - but I spoke with my niece today about how I need to finish Verity! So I might do that before reading the third book in the series I’m on.

As always, extra spice side reads happen…..
