Really plain so far. Boring and dreadful. Hope it will pick up soon.

Margaret is especially boring. Never have i ever encountered such a boring and useless character. She says the most basic things like “ah that’s nice” and that’s about it.

How boring. Rooney is incapable of creating a full bodied female character. Each of her novels has the same “cool girl” martyr chasing male validation. All the sex scenes are just awful. I don’t know why i keep doing this to myself. Should’ve given up on her after Beautiful world

Why are all of her female characters such a pick me martyrs? They have no back bone. This is my last Roonie book i swear

More mature than the previous novels but still very millennial. Stream of consciousness kind of storytelling which is new for Sally Rooney. This book feels like a logical continuation of her previous work.
