I think there are some time line issues with this book . They say the events of Alien happened 60 years ago but they also imply that Amanda Is still alive fighting the Xenos. Problem is alien isolation takes place 15 years after Alien making Amanda 26 in isolation so that would make her 71 ( my math may be off ) in this book? Also she is stated to be dead in the being of Aliens ( 57 years after Alien )

150 pages in and they are still in the shire. This really takes some time to get going :/

The narration is just the worst on the audio version I am listing to , I will have to give the physical version a shot

The yes/no 20 questions thing is getting old really quick.

This book lacks structure and reads like a bad soap opera. If I was not reading this for a book club I would have DNF’d it after 50 pages.

Man this is dull, what a let down I think this will be the last book of this series for me.

I don’t know about this so far. It seems more interested in the gender politics of the day and some of the characterization is way off. The description of Sleepy Hollow and the Hudson River valley are very flat and having those great descriptions is what made the original so memorable.

DNF. To many of the narrators kept smacking their lips together, the sound just drove me crazy

Man this is hard to get into,it reads like a dry history textbook .

This books is going to give me a panic attack

DNF , this is so bloated and directionless .

Lord Henry is just the worst. It’s like he has nothing better to do with his life but manipulate people for fun . All the other characters also seem to not have much going on in there lives if the most pressing matter of their lives is of what an empty headed beautiful boy says/does from day to day . I am very interested to see how this plays out but I am seeing some similarities in this to”The Sun Also rises”

DNF this writing style was just not working for me

This book is starting to feel a little on the bloated side . I especially find the Shallan focused chapters to be particularly tedious.

DNF. I just could not get into this one. I really don’t get the hype associated with it.

So far these stories are great but I am starting to get them confused with one another so I think I will read the rest of these intermittently between my other reads.

DNF, the writing style is horrendous . It had a very odd rhythm to it.

I find it very challenging to get into this story. So far it is very trite fantasy and a lot of the characters tend to ramble. I will give it a few more days
