This is SO BEAUTIFULLY written!!!!
“I’m at a stop where I can neither be what I always am, nor turn into what I could be.”
“Her hands are like my mother’s hands, but there’s something else in them, too. Something I have never felt before and have no name for. I feel at such a loss for words, but this is a new place, and new words are needed.”

“I dip the ladle and bring it to my lips. This water is cool and clean as anything I’ve ever tasted. It tastes of my father leaving, of him never having ever been there, of having nothing after he was gone.”

Maybe you know already but there's a great recent cinematic adaption of this book if you can find it, with the dialogue in Irish (our indigenous language (with subtitles)). It's called An Cailín Ciúin.

Do you any other Irish literature you'd recommend? it feels like i always see the same titles recommended. I'm completely in love (not exaggerating haha) with everything about Ireland.
