Wang is doing an incredible job with making the MC multifaceted. She is highly intelligent and accomplished yet based on her upbringing in this world she is incredibly ignorant to other cultures.
This is a hard magic system that is heavily intertwined with math and science. Despite its complexities I appreciate how Wang explains it to readers without making it feel like a textbook.

The first chapter immediately grips you. The introduction to Blight in this world is horrifying! I am excited to continue on and follow our MC.

Have you read sword of kaigen, Jess? ML Wang is just so good. This book just gets better, building up to an incredible ending.

No, but it's been on my list. I happen to see this at the library and decided now was the time.I am glad to know its get better because I love what she is building.
The Sword of Kaigen is one of my favorite books of the past 10 years. It is absolutely wonderful. And this almost - ALMOST - matches it. Can’t wait to read your review!
