I can't focus on anything but the fact that the author is probably confusing a therapist with a psychiatrist, the term is being kinda interchanged. Is it the country difference? Is a psychiatrist the same as a therapist in the USA?

Drache.... (Angelika) Can't help you, sorry. But I hope you can get past it ♥️

Teru @Drache I'm trying to shut my brain up because it's being picky with details that are, frankly, inconsequential :( But otherwise? Can't wait to see how far Ben will go, they're already pulling at my heartstrings ❤️❤️

Drache.... (Angelika) My mind is the same, so I feel you ;) enjoy ♥️♥️

Ditte Lol no idea but it's funny I didn't notice this when I read it a few weeks back because that's usually something that annoys me

Evie Hahahah those are two very different things here and are in no way interchangeable. That would drive me up the fucking wall…

Teru @Drache thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Teru @Ditte my brain seems to be in a hyperfocusing mode lol because it's nitpicking everything, I need a new one -_- I just want to enjoy my book, come on xD

Teru @Evie YES, here as well, a psychiatrist sure as hell won't sit down will you for an hour for a therapy. I'm trying to ignore it and focus on the more important things but then my brain just goes back to this and screams "wrong", completely taking me out of the story, it's such an asshole ;-;

Daniel I didn't notice that when I read it ... and it's set about an hour's drive from where I live. Technically in the US, therapist and psychologist are the same thing. Psychiatrists are medical doctors and can prescribe medication ... therapists/psychologists cannot prescribe medication. That's the only difference that I'm aware of. 🤷‍♂️

Teru @Daniel YES, exactly, that's what I'm getting at. Here, the author uses the terms "therapist" and "psychiatrist" as if they're interchangeable...which they're not. Thank you for the confirmation it's the same in the USA ❤️ I've accepted that this doctor is a psychiatrist that had the additional psychotherapy training and specializes in therapy mostly...for the peace of my own mind lol

Drache.... (Angelika) @Teru I love your mental gymnastics to trick yourself into believing it makes sense, so you are able to focus on the story ;)
♥️♥️

Daniel I just see psychiatrists as "next level" therapists. Simplifying it but 🤷‍♂️. 😂

I need to convince my head because apparently, it's my enemy number one right now and I'm not a fan 🙈 This book deserves all my attention, especially because you love it so much ♥️♥️

😂 The thing is, our psychiatrists here are so damn busy (and so few) I can't even imagine them having the time actually to lead a therapy, so it's very very different. I'm glad it's apparently better in the USA 🙏

Daniel Oh, wow! Sounds like some of them should relocate!
