The morning light's radiance showed in the sharp, clear blue of the sky, in the twinkling of a fender of a car that passed by, in the open-handed beauty of the leaves moving in the tall maples along this section of the town's Main Street.

Here's my message today to Elizabeth Strout: My dear, you are a FIERCE, ferocious, badass writer. You make me lightheaded.
In her mind, she was a faint pencil line on a piece of paper; everyone else was drawn in ink, some--like the minister--with a firm Magic Marker.

That's so sweet, Ken! I finally succumbed to reading it. (I ration Ms. Strout's work, so I always have something to look forward to).
I hadn't heard of this one yet! I ration her work, too - I hate the thought of being through it all at some point! I can do rereads when the day comes.
Shelley,It makes me smile to know I'm not the only one rationing her work! I have watched the HBO miniseries of OLIVE KITTERIDGE three times now, which is unheard of, for me (the only movies I watch multiple times involve either Jane Austen or Tom Hanks!). It's a testament to my love for Ms. Strout.
