When I read a Merrily Watkins novel, it's like coming home.
It's a realistic setting where the supernatural and spirituality are not rejected as nonsense and you, personally, insulted as being a gullible moron for being part of it, but where all the characters take it seriously and it's central to their lives...no matter in what colour it comes in. Such a relief!

I've been entirely focused on the LBC. With the exception of very short stories on Reactor, I'm ONLY reading LBs. That helps.

It's going somewhat off the rails at the end, so it'll probably match up with your rating -- a 4 star.
yes, they do sometimes stray from the sensible abit, towards/around the 'climax'/resolution ;)it also didn't occur to me that some of these might be Long Books!
i should have spotted that sooner! :)
