Liyan had to use a sythe versus one of the captains of the Wuxin army. He had a sword!!! Liyan was like "he has a better weapon". Girl only he has the *only* weapon cause you have a sythe!! AND SHE DOESN'T IMMEDIATELY DIE. SHE "Throws up her sythe to catch his blow" HOW?? It doesnt have hand guards and you can't parry with it. You might be able to deflect one attack but like. Liyan should be dead.

The reveal of what the south courtyard is to Zengwei (the God of War) and why he wouldn't let anyone enter it near the beginning of the book. Fuckin made me cry 😭

God I love, well, Love. The way it makes poeple do the cutest and most thoughtful things ever ahhhh it melts my heart

Okay there was a twist I knew kind of had to happen but it didn't happen in the way it expected. It is better than I thought and actually fixes alot of issues I had about some of the character interactions. Also Liyan didn't make me roll my eyes these last couple chapters. We might be moving away from a 3 star review if this is able to end strongly

Aww it only took her 300+ pages of a 450 page to say "Maybe not all of the immortals from this clan are evil.. even though I assumed they were"
Wow some really great character growth here. Hopefully she permanently learns this lesson and takes it to hear-

Finished Part II. Hopefully we are finally done with Liyan (the MC) constantly seeing something that makes her angry then immediately going "its all the fault of you immortals because.." I'm just so tired of it. She recently said immortals could never understand how mortals feel when people die. Liyan says this to the God of War like 2 chapters after they see his close immortal friend and soldiers die horrible deaths

Woman learns swordplay over the course of one week with no previous experience while managing a court in the mornings and studying late into the night. I know she's gonna have to fight bad immortals later (the ones who have actively been in a war for years) and still win anyway cause she's got this one week of training -_-

I am enjoying the plot though even if I do enjoy nitpicking any scenes with swords lmao

God of War stabs someone and they survive. Later they are being hostile towards him and he's asks "Why are you acting this way?" to them. Hmm I wonder why sir??? Maybe you fuckin stabbed them???

Finished part 1 of 3. Plot twist happened that I kinda figured would happen with some of the foreshadowing. She was beginning to not suck and now that's gonna be set back to square one. Although she'll be justified

Anyway now the important things. He wore his sword on his hip for a chapter (CORRECTLY). BUT IT WAS JUST SO MC COULD FUCKIN STEAL IT LATER IN THE CHAPTER. God so stupid

I am genuinely enjoying this story

Also it's mentioned a bunch that the God of War always carries his sword on his back. You literally cannot draw a longsword from your back without it catching unless the sheath is modified and even then its slower and more dangerous. The God of War should know this. A pet peeve of mine

What do you mean an "unexpected sentiment from the God of War"!?!?!??! HE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT NICE TO YOU. EVERY "FIGHT" YOU HAD WAS BECAUSE YOU STARTED IT. This woman is insane.
