That's a curious Henry James novel. Read it just last summer and enjoyed, though found it to be overlong. Many (including James himself) regard it as a flop. Curious to hear what you think.

I'm 480 pages in, and no one's lobbed a Molotov cocktail yet. It's strange but compelling all the same.
