William Eriksson Oh, lord. Why even write a book like that?

Hala Alzaghal It is very surprising to read it and wonder why someone would write it, but then you go deep through his thoughts and disturbing desires and you understand why someone would want to write it. Just because it's wrong to have these thoughts does not mean we shouldn't understand the thought process that goes through the heads of men like him. I actually became more protective of myself and my sisters when it comes to men.

Karim Anani Arguably, the point of literature is to embody other minds, anyway. The Killer Inside Me isn't an endorsement of violent psychopathy, but it does shed light on it. Etc.

Hala Alzaghal You’re right, even though it’s disturbing but it doesn’t mean it’s not interesting going into his mind.

William Eriksson You two have a point.
But still... I won't read it. I'm already scarred by reading about what's happening to the environment.

But how's the book so far? What have you learned?

Hala Alzaghal It’s been an interesting ride. I like how the main characters are always changing and every page they have an idea or another. And I learned not to trust any man on earth.

William Eriksson I don't think the authors intent was "not to trust any man on earth", which is also an immensely sexist thing to say.

Hala Alzaghal well, we do not read with the goal of reaching the writer's intention behind the book. Any book is a work of art open for all and any interpretation. Relax, it was not meant to attack anyone, maybe if in another life you were a female you would understand how it feels every single day for us. I was never born with the intention of fearing anyone or not trusting anyone, but that's the world we live in.
