Are you liking this? One of my formative favorite books. How's he doing with that carb?

I am, yes. I'm laughing on every page. I may be growing a tiny bit tired of the schtick, but it's funny and cutting enough to keep me going. I'm also really interested in the form; there's not so much a plot as an accumulation of characters and events, which I've really never seen a book do before. The fact that this was his first novel is astounding to me.
