      hahahaha I went into this completely blind and WHAT is going on? Like is this some weird fake relationship? blurb insinuates it is but book is a bit nebulous?

I wasn't really interested in that series though.
I definitely think it can be read as a standalone but there is character context that's mentioned in previous books as all the main characters (the three sisters and three guys) make appearances.
So short answer: for the best reading experience I recommend reading the 3 Addicted books prior to this one. Still, if you absolutely don't want to I'm still enjoying this book without having read those. I do think there's some context I'm missing but I'm having a good time.

I'm glad I ended up reading it because they were featured more prominently than I thought they would be.
