What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Eric Laster Read. Read, read, read. Then please read some more. Not just books and blogs and articles that you find entertaining. Exercising the reading muscle is, I believe, akin to exercising the writing muscle. If you care about the craft of writing, the best thing you can do—besides daily putting pencil to paper whether you feel like it or not (your tools may vary)—is to read widely, variedly, and study how different kinds of stories are told. I have learned a great deal by reading books I ultimately didn’t think were a success: that whole what-not-to-do thing. So again, read. And encourage everyone you know to read, too.

Looking forward to reading "Static" when it comes out. I'm always interested in how writers get their ideas or what inspired them. How did "Static" develop? What inspired it?
