I am currently working on not working :) When I was writing "The Year of The Frog" it did not feel like work. Now that I am having to self promote the book I am finding it difficult, adjusting to a task that feels like work. So I am trying to make it fun - like I am playing and this is just part of the game. Also I have two more books - one that is done but needs my attention for editing and another that needs to be polished for flow and editing. I have put them on the back burner while I promote "The Year of The Frog" and work on the Spanish translation.

The best thing about being a writer is connecting with my soul. I get in a very meditative state that feels like bliss. I write from the soul and there are no rules in that sweet place. It feels amazing to write freely, no grammar, no fear of what others might think, just letting it flow.

I go to church. Not the type of church I grew up with but my own version. I am lucky enough to live within walking distance of three beaches. I check the tides (I'm a low tide girl) and venture off barefoot through nature to the beach that suits my mood that day. I meditate, connect with nature, swim and walk along the edge of the sea where the edge of low tide meets land. It is healing energy that sparks creativity. Then I come back to my writing and if it flows, I let it. If it does not, I do something else creative. Forcing anything is negative energy. Negative energy blocks creativity.
