Jeremie Guy Just living life. Whether it's taking the time to admire the beauty in this world, or going out to dinner with some friends, I can always count on doing or seeing something to make me want to write.
Jeremie Guy Right now (3/2/16) I'm working on a prequel to the Third of Seven. Not sure if I'll try to publish it yet, but it's helping me develop ideas for the sequel to the Third of Seven. It's also helping me produce deeper characters, as the prequel provides insight into many of the characters' backstories (mainly Koñél, but also Vidogo, the Red Mage, and the Shaman).
Jeremie Guy Read, write, listen. Reading will allow you to see what works well for others, and it will help you to find your own voice. Reading also helps strengthen your brain. Writing is a craft that must constantly be worked on. Never stop working on the craft, even if you can only only do a few lines a day. Listening gives you material for your own stories. Everyone has a story to tell, and hearing other people talk about their lives and problems will help you develop your own characters into believable, deep, and authentic people.
Jeremie Guy Usually either looking at something related to the story (pictures online, etc) or trying to go to a place similar to the setting in the story (the park, a friends house, etc). Sometimes seeing or being in a location will help me connect with the story in a new way, overcoming the block and allowing the creative juices to flow again.
