I found an old manuscript that I had written in the early 1980's based on my journal that I kept when I was working as a timber cruiser in northern Ontario when I was going through my mother's papers a few months ago. I had forgotten all about it and thought it lost forever. I felt my mother smiling down on me and realized that I just had to re-write and publish the book. It was tough to change the people that I wrote about into characters as there was no way that I could find them to ask their permission while still maintaining the integrity of the story.
