I picture my imagination as a large, peaceful lake that I can dip, or dive, into whenever I like. I need to visit this lake often to refresh myself. Getting ideas isn't hard. I've got more ideas for books that I will ever be able to write. The challenge is converting the idea into a fully fledged story.

I'm putting the finishing touches on my next romance novel, PAINT ME LOVE. It features Nikki, who is Delta's best friend in THE FRENCHMAN. The action is set in Melbourne, Australia, where I live.

Read, read, read. Ask yourself why you enjoyed a particular book. Ask yourself why you didn't enjoy other books. Once you start writing, remember the importance of rewriting. Delete any unnecessary scenes or characters. Most importantly, write what you want to write.

I love being a writer because I get to create. I love creating characters, settings, plots, and so on. Daydreaming is an acceptable part of my job! I also enjoy the freedom and flexibility I have as a writer who works from home. No peak hour traffic for me.

I rarely experience writer's block. I do chase my tail sometimes when I'm writing a scene, but I can usually get the scene going eventually through sheer persistence.
