How do you get inspired to write?

Brooke Templar I picture my imagination as a large, peaceful lake that I can dip, or dive, into whenever I like. I need to visit this lake often to refresh myself. Getting ideas isn't hard. I've got more ideas for books that I will ever be able to write. The challenge is converting the idea into a fully fledged story.
