Hi! Do you mean on my website? (The numbering at retailers is all over the place for a number of reasons, most of which I can't fix) I put them in order of publication, not actual reading order, because I didn't write them in reading order, and it felt weird to number a new book as if it should come before an older book. But now that the whole series is out, and if there is a new book it would definitely come after the rest, I think you are correct and I will update my website.

Tom was not meant to be anything other than a passing-through character, but he did grow on me! As of now I don't have a story planned for Tom but I have learned never to say never... Some day, it might happen!

Read more of it. :-) There's so much good romance, historical and otherwise, it will be hard to stop. I would be delighted to send a list of recommendations, although there are plenty of places you can find lists. Romance readers love to share their favorites.

The first thing to do is to stop looking at the industry and letting it get you down! Give yourself permission to not write, not think about writing, just let your mind explore different ideas and possibilities. Read books, magazines, watch movies, give your imagination time and space to grow and expand. Once you have an idea, an idea you really love, start writing. It may be hard, it may be easy, but keep at it.
Only when you have an idea that you love, and you're written the story exactly the way you want it to be written, only then start to look at the industry. When you have a story you love, you'll have something to fight for, which will carry you through the discouraging parts of publishing.

I do! That's why I've got a number of novellas--they are generally stories about secondary characters (and in a couple of cases I wrote them at readers' request). But Francis, from the start, was meant to have a rather sad story, romantically, so I kind of burned my bridges in terms of writing his story. But I am so happy you cared about him enough to wonder and want more.

I'm so glad you liked the series! However, there is no book about the Duke of Durham (Francis). His story is told indirectly through the series but I didn't write a book solely about him. It would be pretty heartbreaking to do, given what I wrote about him in Blame It on Bath, for instance.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the series enough to want more, but I don't think I'll ever write about Francis.

It's got a lot of research books, mostly. I read more nonfiction than fiction these days, but on the top of my romance TBR pile are TROUBLEMAKER by Linda Howard, the new Julia Quinn (BECAUSE OF MISS BRIDGETON), and especially the upcoming CHASING LADY AMELIA from Maya Rodale. And if JK Rowling aka Robert Galbraith publishes another Cormoran Strike novel, everything will get bumped so I can read that ASAP. Other than that, my TBR is filled with impulse buys!

The first thing I would recommend is to avoid pressuring yourself. You don't have to sit down and write a whole novel. Start with just a scene, relating something you saw today. Or pick a classic story you love--for example, a fairy tale like Cinderella--and just start writing that. Add details. Dialogue. Change the setting. Change some characters' gender, or history. Feel free to change things in the story that you don't like. Then try writing the story from a different character's point of view (for example, Prince Charming or Cinderella's stepmother). Think hard about why they behave as they do, and explain it.
These are all just ways to trick yourself into writing. Tell yourself it will be short, no one need ever see it, it's just for fun. Sometimes people set a timer, so they know they only have an hour to work on it. I know sometimes it seems like the more you WANT to write, the harder it is to produce the words. But once you convince yourself that you can write 2 pages, you can write 5, then 10, then 100.
