Micki Peluso Basically, I figured that putting all my works into a book would be the best posible way to keep track of them.
Micki Peluso I felt compelled to write when my 14 year old daughter was killed by a drunk driver on a bright sunny day right near out home. I could not speak of the tragedy so I wrote about it, which culminated into a lifetime career of jouranlism, commentary, short fiction and non-fiction. This led to my first book, . . . And the Whippoorwill Sang, a funny, bittersweet story of Noelle's life and death; a celebration of life rather than a eulogy of death. This book has the humor of "Cheaper by the Dozen' with the heart of "To Killl a Mockingbird." In writing this book, I kept a death bed promise to my daughter.
Micki Peluso I'm currently putting together a collection of slice of life humorous stories, short multi-genre fiction and essays with a smattering of short poems, called , "Don't Pluck the Duck." to be released by the end of 2015.
Micki Peluso Write mainly when you have something relavent to say, otherwise you run the risk of sounding forced. Love what you do, let the words flow from you when they are ready. Never give up, but learn from reading the great authors and as you continue to read anbdw rite your abilities will be enhanced. You can only get better. Remember you can please everyone but you can please many so just go for it and enjoy the talent you've been given.
Micki Peluso Everything about being a writer is wonderful. I can voice my thoughts threough my characters and I can reach people on so many levels through my non-fiction and essays. It's a gift to be able to help others through writing and somehow make some difference, no matter how small.
Micki Peluso The rare times I get writer's block, I simply walk away from it and work on something else until it passes or my muse wakes up and gives me a prod.
