Lisa Norato The idea for Love in A Victorian began close to home. It’s a clean and wholesome contemporary romance set in fictional Elm’s Corner, Rhode Island, but which was inspired by my own small community. The story is sprinkled with local history, my own childhood reminiscences, and Rhode Island trivia. I’ve even taken the liberty of borrowing first names of family and friends. I’ve always enjoyed walking around the neighborhood to admire it’s many historic homes. And I suppose I also might have been influenced by my love of watching HGTV renovation shows. Love in a Victorian is a romance novel, but it is also a love story about family and home, about the memories and love that make a house a home—even if that home is just you and your cat.
Lisa Norato Cintia, hello from the U.S. I can understand your frustration. As a writer, I assume you’ve already tried many ways to work past this block. It could be discouragement or fear holding you back. There was once a time when I was in a similar situation. I found myself rewriting the same pages of the same story over and over, uninspired. I moved past it by putting all my present work aside and writing something in a completely different genre. Until then, I’d been writing historical romance, but I stumbled upon an idea for a chick lit novel, which became my first published work - I Only Want To Be With You. So, my suggestion is to try something out of the ordinary and the familiar. If you write romance, try fantasy. Or if young adult is your thing, try a mystery. You get the idea. Maybe like me, in the process of researching and preparing for your new and different story idea, you will find your inspiration again. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Lisa Norato Hi Jill! Thank you for your question! I can't tell you how much it means to me to know you enjoyed my books. It means the world to me, and I really appreciate you letting me know.

I am currently working on a Christmas novella that takes place simultaneously with The Promise Keeper. It's called The Handkerchief Bride and is about horsewoman Tuppence Hart, who must help her grandmother bake a fruitcake for the wedding of the man she secretly loves.
Unfortunately, he regards her as no more than a dear friend. I also plan to write the story of shipwright Lud Webster, another character from The Promise Keeper, with a mystery and suspense story of his own. They will all be part of the book series - Sea Heroes of Duxbury. Also, I have been working on a clean-read, small-town, contemporary romance series with a historical twist, each book focusing on a different time period.

Jill, thank you so much for your reviews and your kind words and enthusiasm for my stories! If possible, would you mind also posting reviews on Amazon? Thanks again for reading my books and for picking up on the twists in each story!!

Blessings,
Lisa
