Cintia
Cintia asked Lisa Norato:

Hi, my name is Cintia and I'm from Argentina. Being a writer is what I want the most in this world, nothing makes me happier than writing, but I'm more and more frustrated with each passing day, because I've been blocked for 3 years. And it is not that I have an unfinished story. I have NOTHING AT ALL. A blank page in front of me, that only makes me sadder... Is there a way to overcome this? How do you handle it?

Lisa Norato Cintia, hello from the U.S. I can understand your frustration. As a writer, I assume you’ve already tried many ways to work past this block. It could be discouragement or fear holding you back. There was once a time when I was in a similar situation. I found myself rewriting the same pages of the same story over and over, uninspired. I moved past it by putting all my present work aside and writing something in a completely different genre. Until then, I’d been writing historical romance, but I stumbled upon an idea for a chick lit novel, which became my first published work - I Only Want To Be With You. So, my suggestion is to try something out of the ordinary and the familiar. If you write romance, try fantasy. Or if young adult is your thing, try a mystery. You get the idea. Maybe like me, in the process of researching and preparing for your new and different story idea, you will find your inspiration again. I hope this helps. Good luck!
