Too bad--It's interesting to think of Mrs. Kaplan with a Jewish/Texas accent. But thanks for mentioning the book to your friend.

No, I don't. But I purposely have never placed my Mrs. Kaplan stories in any particular city or state, so that a reader could imagine them taking place wherever seemed best. (Several have guessed New York or Florida.) So you are free (even encouraged) to set them in Texas! Ida might have a Jewish accent with a Texas drawl. :>)

Hi Judy:
I just came across your nice note again and realized I probably had never responded to it. I really appreciate your having written, and I'm especially glad you found the characters and situations in my Mrs. Kaplan stories rang true. I hope everyone who reads the books will either identify with the characters and situations themselves or, if they're not familiar with Jewish culture and characteristics, will learn something valuable about them.
As it happens, two Mrs. Kaplan stories will be coming out soon: The second book in the series, "A Pain in the Tuchis," will be reissued in print and ebook on January 12, 2022, and the third book, never before published, will be released this October 27, 2021 and is currently available for pre-sale. ("Mrs. Kaplan and the Matzoh Ball of Death" was reissued in 2020 and is still available.)
Thanks again (belatedly) for your very nice comments.

Hi Jeri:
You asked me a question 3 years ago and I'm not sure I ever answered! If that's so, I know it's much too late, but I thought I'd answer anyway, with sincere apologies.
"Mrs. Kaplan and the Matzoh Ball of Death," originally published as an ebook by Random House and then out of print for awhile, was reissued in 2020 in both ebook and print by Black Opal Books and is currently available on Amazon. The second book in the series, "A Pain in the Tuchis," also originally published by RH, will be reissued on January 12, 2022. And I'm happy to say the third and latest book, "OY Vey, Maria!," which has not been published before, will come out October 27, 2021.
I hope you would still like to read about Mrs. K. And again, I apologize for not responding sooner.
