Adrienne deWolfe I give free rein to my silly, childlike, inquisitive, hopeful nature. When my Inner Child is in control, all her ideas are shiny bright and brilliant. (She doesn't think much of my Inner Critic, as you might imagine.) I draw a lot of inspiration from magical-miracle stories, nature (including awesome landscape paintings), glorious fantasy art, and the history of the locales that I write about.
Adrienne deWolfe The sequel to DEVIL IN TEXAS.
Adrienne deWolfe Never, never, EVER give up on your dream. Some Higher Power gave you your story for a reason. Tell it. Then find the audience who will recognize it as the exact thing that they were looking for: encouragement, hope, healing, or that special kind of "Eureka!" moment that only YOUR STORY has the power to provide. Keep the faith in your writing! And if you need a writing coach, don't be shy: contact me. I love to help aspiring authors. http://WritingNovelsThatSell.com
Adrienne deWolfe I get to live in all kinds of cool worlds, experience all kinds of exhilarating adventure, and never break a sweat. LOL! I'm a story-teller at heart, so if I'm not writing a story, you can be sure I'm TELLING one . . . or hunting for the audience who will listen This is why authors have cats. And goldfish. And plants ...
Adrienne deWolfe Cheese puffs. (Oh. You wanted a SERIOUS response?) Honestly, folks, there are tons of ways to crack the block. (My favorite is to do some menial task, like washing dishes, to free up my creative mind to free-associate.) In my case, writing blocks usually rear their ugly heads when I have a story problem, and I'm writing myself deeper into the hole -- without a clue, of course. My trusty muse shuts down all communication and sends me to bed for a nap. At that point, interesting solutions emerge (like the raccoon, who stows away in the heroine's traveling trunk, in DEVIL IN TEXAS.) Needless to say, I've started to keep a dream journal.
Adrienne deWolfe DEVIL IN TEXAS (tentative title) sprang from a character named "Coyote Cass," (sometimes known as "Eros in Spurs!") who tries to steal Sera from his best friend, Jesse Quaid, in SEDUCED BY AN ANGEL. Cass kept talking to me, telling me that he wanted his own story -- so I wrote the novella, SHADY LADY (published in the #1 bestselling anthology, PISTOLS AND PETTICOATS.) But Cass is the competitive type. If Jesse had his own book, then CASS had to have his own book! DEVIL IN TEXAS, Book 1 in a new Romantic Suspense series, pits Cass (the hired gun of a Texas senator) against his sizzling old flame, Sadie Michelson (a Pinkerton Agent.) SPOILER ALERT: Get out the fire extinguisher, folks, 'cause the sparks really fly in this one!
