Goodreads asked Adrienne deWolfe:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Adrienne deWolfe Cheese puffs. (Oh. You wanted a SERIOUS response?) Honestly, folks, there are tons of ways to crack the block. (My favorite is to do some menial task, like washing dishes, to free up my creative mind to free-associate.) In my case, writing blocks usually rear their ugly heads when I have a story problem, and I'm writing myself deeper into the hole -- without a clue, of course. My trusty muse shuts down all communication and sends me to bed for a nap. At that point, interesting solutions emerge (like the raccoon, who stows away in the heroine's traveling trunk, in DEVIL IN TEXAS.) Needless to say, I've started to keep a dream journal.
