Book #2, "Darkness Comes Reaping" - a sequel to "Darkness Creeps Forth". That's the primary task that I've set myself right now.
I also keep notes for subsequent books in the series, and have jotted down notes and ideas for other books. Some of the notes are reasonably complete outlines for the story, and others are simply quick-and-dirty notes to myself so that I won't forget that fabulous idea that popped into my head in the middle of the night.

Yeah, yeah, that's the same advice that pretty much every writer gives, but it is seriously true. Keep a notebook and pen/pencil with you at all times to jot down short (and sometimes not so short) ideas that will occur to you at random times.

Being a writer! Hey, it is a real kick to bang away at the keyboard, then at the end of it all find an honest-to-goodness novel. The whole process of writing gets my mental juices going ... the researching, the plotting, thinking of neat twists or dialog in the middle of the night ... it all gets my mind racing. In short, it is a lot of fun.

For me, being blocked means that something is wrong with the book ... maybe it is the story, the characterization, or something. So, I go and work on a different chapter, or make short plot notes about various aspects that come to mind, or maybe just do a bit of proof-reading and general clean-up. The important thing is to continue to do SOMETHING with the book. Worst comes to worst, I go and take a nap ... the cats always appreciate a lap to lay on.
