At one time, it would have been Dinotopia (I know right? Waaaay outdated). But I still wouldn't mind riding a Night Fury (same story? Or am I confusing two different plots? 🤣)

One of the most mysterious things that ever happened in my life...was when I lost my sheep. Yep. You heard me. S-H-E-E-P...SHEEP! I was taking a leisurely stroll through the pasture one day, and decided to take a wooly head-count. Sure enough...one of my favorite sheep was missing! I suddenly felt a horrible knot in the pit of my stomach, and, after running back to the barn to fetch some grain, began calling her at the top of my voice and shaking the feed can. Nothing. There was absolute silence...which definitely wasn't right, as this particular sheep LOVED grain. I ran hither and thither, calling and shaking, and growing more panicked all the time. Finally, just about at the end of my rope, I stopped near the haystack to contemplate my next move. Where could she be? I wondered. Where oh where could she be? ...Snort.
Wait a minute...'snort'? I thought, and looked around...."Oink, snort, oink, snort, snuffle, snuffle..."
It was just a faint sound, but it brought me back from my troubled thoughts. Hold on a minute, I said to myself. There aren't any pigs around here...so what could be making this funny noise? I looked around. This 'funny noise' appeared to be coming from somewhere nearby. Then a thought hit me like a bolt of lightning...actually, we DID own a pig...in a round-about way. A slow smile crossed my face. I stooped down and lifted the tarp that was draped over the hay pile. A wooly face with a mouth stuffed full of hay looked back at me...and gave a happy snort. Yep. That was it! Mystery solved! My piggy sheep had wiggled her way into the hay pile and...well...the rest is history!

(Hard question to answer!) My favorite fictional couple would probably have to be Lord Percy and Lady Marguerite from the Scarlet Pimpernel...awesome read...even more awesome couple! Oh, yeah...and Westley and Buttercup from the Princess Bride! (Okay, so that's two couples...best I can do!)

Thank you for the invite, Catherine! Unfortunately, I don't have a facebook account...for one thing, I'm a very old fashioned person, which means I'm definitely not what you would call 'techy'...In fact,I'm still finding my way around here on goodreads! But I'm so glad to have you as a friend!

Not at all, Barbara! At least...I don't think so! I'm very interested in cultural things, ethnic music and food, etc. I grew up wanting to play the bagpipes, but they're a tad more expensive. And when I saw Pedro Eustache playing this amazing 3000 year old instrument during a Yanni concert, and heard how it sounded, I decided that was the first instrument I wanted to learn how to play! I also love anything ancient, and historical, which made a big difference in that decision!

Hi, Barbara!
No, sadly I am not Armenian (at least not to my knowledge...I'm lots of other things!)...but I do play the Armenian duduk! It's a beautiful instrument, and I find I am drawn to Armenia in many ways! Thanks for reaching out to me as well!

Hi, Scotlass! Wow! Those are loaded questions! But I love that!
So glad to hear you liked When the Lion Roars! It's very refreshing to get positive feedback, especially when you work really hard on a project! I got the inspiration to write my first book in the form of a bolt of lightning. My family and I were talking one day, and all of a sudden it just hit me..."Why don't I write a book? I love to read and I love to write, I'm always thinking up interesting plots and stories in my spare time...what's stopping me?" So I began jotting down ideas right then and there and I didn't stop until my book was finished! I basically just wanted to see if I could actually do it all on my own...and I did!
And no, I have never been professionally coached or taken classes...my mom taught me to have a really good foundation in grammar, English, vocabulary and literature, and I have always loved to read anyway! So I combined all of my favorite subjects, including history, adventure, humor, food, archaeology, foreign languages, etc., picked a plot, dreamed up the characters that I would enjoy reading about, and just headed out from there. I always had a general idea of where I wanted the story to go, but I had a wonderful time discovering the little in-between details along the way...It was kindof like going on my own literary safari!
And yes, I am writing the sequel to When the Lion Roars, and I am almost halfway done! I don't want to give too much away just yet, but suffice it to say I am continuing the story of the four teenagers from book one, and I introduce a whole new bunch of characters from archaeologists to warriors, to villains, and a few previously introduced characters from the first book too! The plot travels from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland to Kyrgyzstan, to the mountains of Siberia, to ancient settlements spanning the steppes, mountains, plains and rivers of the Orient. I have done and continue to do a great deal of historical and archaeological research to weave into the adventure as well, on top of all my other favorite subjects! Hope that answers all of your questions!

Wonderful! I'm so so so glad you liked it! In fact, I'm overjoyed! Thank you, Willie, you made my day! It's so nice to work on a project for so long (three years plus) and really feel like all your hard work payed off and brought someone pleasure! And yes, I'm working doggedly on book number two! And it's my deepest hope that it will be even better than the first! My best to you and your family!

Hi cousin Willie twice removed!
My mom has mentioned some pretty great memories about when she visited the farm back in the day...something about a certain cousin slipping in chicken manure before going to church?!! (and in his church clothes!) Anyway, it is a mighty great pleasure to "meet" you! Congratulations on your daughter's wedding, and I'm so pleased that my book "struck your fancy!"
I'm working on writing book number two...but you might have to wait a little while! I'm just wrapping up chapter three, in-between shepherding sheep, goats, cows, chickens, ducks, etc. (In answer to your question, I don't do a whole lot of running...more like CHASING! It keeps me plenty fit! Believe me!)
Thanks so much for being the first person to post a question to me here on goodreads! I was thrilled! And please tell great aunt Dorothy she's the best, and I really appreciate her handing out all those bookmarks! God bless 'er!
Take care, and my best to your family!
Sincerely,
Inis L. Fal!!!!

Spinning your own yarns is tons of fun...you can write what you want, how you want, it's yours. Incorporating all the things that interest you is very fun too.

Go for the glory! If you want to write a book, just haul off and do it! Because you absolutely can! I had no previous experience when I wrote my first book...and I did it! You can too!

I am currently working on the sequel to my first book.

One day...it just sortof hit me that...hey, why don't I write a book myself and see what happens? So I did. I began jotting down ideas the very day I got the inspiration and didn't stop until my book was finished.

I have always been a huge fan of archaeology, stories about exotic, ancient locations, history and adventure. I also love to read books that combine those kind of story lines with humor, delicious descriptions of beautiful settings and food and so forth. Rarely do you ever find a book that combines all of the above. So I decided to write a book of my own that combined all of my favorite things!
