I just bought an entire trilogy of Charlaine Harris' books about Midnight, Texas. First up is Midnight Crossroad, then Day Shift, and next is Night Shift. I really enjoy her writing. Thanks so much for asking!

Have you ever wondered why it's so exhausting to be around some people? I have. There are some people who, even though I enjoy their company, I nearly collapse when they move on. One person in particular seemed to have this effect on me. I thought about that thing for awhile, and avoided the person as much as possible, but it wasn't until I mentioned this casually to another friend who has some experience in this that I got an answer.
I need to take a quick tangent before I come back to this energy problem... I'm sure you've heard of vampires. Several authors have written popular series with vampires as the main characters and many of those have been adapted for TV or movies. Here's a definition of a vampire: "a corpse supposed, in European folklore, to leave its grave at night to drink the blood of the living by biting their necks with long pointed canine teeth." Gross and horrifying at the same time, but for whatever reason, even though vampires are folklore creatures, people enjoy stories about vampires.
Coming full circle, my friend who I spoke to about my energy loss problem said the answer was clear to her. The person who I found to be exhausting was an energy vampire. Even at Oprah.com they recognize energy vampires as real threats to us: http://www.oprah.com/omagazine/protec...
Go figure, right? Anyway, most energy vampires I've encountered leave me weak. But, I thought as I donned my mystery author hat, what if there were energy vampires who could and would drain you dry? That was a launch moment for the plot of my upcoming release, Dadgummit, which comes out Aug. 1, 2017. My amateur sleuth is hard pressed at first to figure out how and why a person with no obvious means of death is dead. Until she stumbles upon an energy vampire.

Hi Sherrie,
It's so good to hear from you. I believe you can post the review on Goodreads prior to it being released. Amazon makes reviewers wait until release day. I hope that isn't too much of an inconvenience. I certainly appreciate your willingness to review Bubba Done It.
Thanks! Maggie
