Jen Cullerton Johnson I am finishing up a full length creative nonfiction book about gardening and how it helps society.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Jen Cullerton Johnson My advice is very simple: be present, let your mind relax and realize there are various strands of reality. You pick one and write it.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Jen Cullerton Johnson The best thing about begin a writer is that I am able to give voice to my concerns that i have about living. In turn, my giving voice to myself often times, give voice to others. So, it is a full circle, win-win situation.

What do you like to do in the summer?
Jen Cullerton Johnson I like to hang out with my friends and family. Summer is a time in the Midwest where everything comes alive and is at its best-- from the full harvest in the fields to sandy beaches on Lake Michigan. I love to sail, to walk, and to read outside.
