Dianne Bright I would definitely travel to Narnia, because I would love to meet Aslan. I've read the books a number of times, and the scenes are so real to me--plus, the symbolism is amazing. If I could pick another one, I'd also love to go to Baker Street in London (inside of Sherlock Holmes' world, of course). Also--New York for City of Bones would be cool or for Percy Jackson (with the fictional characters, obvs). :)
Dianne Bright I'm definitely going to read MIDNIGHT SUN (wondering how it compares with the online 1/2 more than a decade ago--super excited either way). I'm totally behind on my goodreads reading goal, so I'll be finishing some I'm currently into: MY CALAMITY JANE, LEGEND OF THE STORM SNEEZER, JESUS AMONG OTHER GODS, and FADE TO WHITE. My TBR pile is high (including Roth's signed copy of CHOSEN ONES), but first I'll finish these.
Dianne Bright I took three adventurous trips in my late teens to the Ukraine, Russia, and Japan. Those could make for some fun tales.
Dianne Bright My advice is to connect with readers who enjoy reading books that are similar to the one you're writing. Start interacting about the books you're both already reading. Then, add in, "Hey, my book's kind of similar. Would you mind writing a review for a free reader copy?"

Also, if you're able to join a writing group, often times other authors will write reviews for you in exchange for an upcoming review of their book. I recently joined an online writing group through James Patterson's Master Class, and I have five reviewers lined up for my book coming out next week: SOUL JUMPER. I just posted a cover pic and asked who might want to write a review. It was easy and quick.
Dianne Bright From my Spanish-lit background, we called it "la intertextualidad" so the best translation in English is inter-textuality; it's the use of outside literary references within the current text. It could be a reference to a poem, an essay, or a narrative, etc. Hope that helps! :)
Dianne Bright TV-binging and ICE CREAM!
Dianne Bright I've traveled the world-- to Russia, Ukraine, Japan, France, the heart of Mexico, and beyond-- but I could never see it all in one lifetime. In fiction though, you can go anywhere!
Dianne Bright After dozens of published articles and professional blog posts, along with my first novel in April, 2015, my advice is simple: NEVER GIVE UP! :)
Dianne Bright I'm currently half-way done writing book #2 of my adult fantasy/sci-fi Soul Reader trilogy. I'm also brainstorming an upcoming YA fantasy series about a twelve year old girl who sees shadows.
Dianne Bright I drink strong coffee and full-bodied Merlot, depending on the time of day. Plus I pray and ask God to bless the project I'm working on. I also love to spend time outdoors jogging and bike-riding.
Dianne Bright I've always been intrigued by the spiritual world around us. Plus, I met a paraplegic guy who inspired me while struggling through my own season of depression. So my characters just sort of came together effortlessly.
