I am obsessed with Harry Potter. I love the idea of magic existing in our real world. If I could go anywhere in that world, it would be the Forbidden Forest or Newt Scamander briefcase. I'm a nature lover and to observe all the different magical creatures would be an amazing experience.

When I was a baby, my parents noticed strange things happening in my room. The rocker would be moving, lights turned on for no reason and it appeared that I was playing with somebody above my crib. All these things could be explained away, but they brought a priest in anyway. The priest said there was a spirit, but he did not detect anything evil Fast forward to middle school and I got a brand new camera to take pictures. I shot pictures of everything. One shot was of my empty bed. However, when the film was developed a brunette girl was laying on my bed. This freaked me out. I ripped up the picture and threw it in the trash.
My family loves to play poker. I'm in my 20s, we are playing cards and talking about the past. Somehow we start talking about our old Baker Street house. My parents mention how it was originally a girls orphanage. My cousin then admitted that the reason she never wanted to stay over our house was because one night she saw the ghost of a brunette girl in the upstairs hallway. I turned white, and described the picture of the girl on my bed. Lets just say, I have believed in ghosts from that moment on.

There are so many great things about being a writer. This answer will change at different times in my life, but right now that greatest thing is having the opportunity to be a stay at home dad. (I am currently answering these questions with my four month old son sleeping in my arms and my two year old passed out in her crib.)

I recently had the idea that writers block is simply the fear of failure overpowering your confidence. Now, if I have "writer's block", I just keep writing something. I will probably delete it or at least revise it, but it keeps the creative juices flowing.

I am constantly inspired to write. I can't go more than a couple days without some crazy idea popping into my head. My problem comes from focusing on one at a time.

I came up with the idea while watching Beetlejuice. Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis have the Handbook For The Recently Deceased to help them with their new life as ghosts. I thought that would be a fun book to actually write. From there, I spun off into a series of survival books for ghost, werewolves, witches, zombies and vampires. I started with vampires, because they have always been my favorite “monsters” and I already knew a lot about them.
