What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Jess Fulton Write! And read, but when you read pay attention to what you read. If you like a certain passage explore why you like it, how did the writer make you feel the way you felt. I think you can learn as much from paying attention to your emotions while you read than you can from any teacher standing as the front of the class telling you how to write.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Jess Fulton This has been a work in progress for eight years. It has evolved as I have evolved. I grew up in a small town so that part of the book came very easy to write about.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Jess Fulton I usually go outside, there is nothing like sunshine on your face to clear your head. And my dog enjoys the walk as well
