This often happens with my poetry writing, as I need to feel inspired in order to write from the heart. I find I can't force the writing, otherwise it shows, so I take time out and find inspiration in the things around me or I search through memories and emotions to reconnect with the message I'm conveying with my poetry.

I've recently started to put some thought into a second collection of works, as a follow up to my first book. Along a similar theme, but with a natural progression that comes from life. My thoughts and feelings on matters relating to not just myself as a gay man, but what we all go through, matters of the heart.

Most of my writing comes from the depths of an emotional event where I write down my thoughts and feelings in the hope of analysing the situation and finding my way. The titles obviously relate to the subject of what i'm experiencing and I form my thoughts into prose.

The material from my recent book, 'Poems from the Depths of a Gay Heart' originated from personal emotional experiences centred around searching, finding and losing love over the last 20 years. Originally written as a coping mechanism, rather than for publication, I decided to publish this book, given the current climate surrounding same sex marriage, as a means of breaking down the stereotypes and demonstrating that we all love, we all get our hearts broken, we all want the same things and when it comes down to it 'Love is Love'.
