Vicki Fitzgerald I visit places. When I know the setting of where the scenes will take place, I find somewhere that resembles it. I sit and listen to sounds and take everything in from the trees, to the weather, to the wildlife etc. It really helps your ideas come together. In Briguella, I spent a lot of time sitting in an abandoned old tithe barn and this helped me to write some of the best pages in the book.
Vicki Fitzgerald Putting yourself into the book and imagining that those things are happening to you. It makes your writing feel more real in my opinion. And of course seeing your work in paperback!
