Cecilia Dart-Thornton Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your inquiry!
Apologies for the tardy reply - I have not visited Goodreads for a while. Yes, I do have plans to write a new book or series. Multiple stories always exist in my imagination, clamoring to be released onto the page. And generally, if I begin by writing a book, it turns into a series.
That said, the next book/series I write will probably be my last. I would like to go on writing forever, but for health reasons, the physical act of writing is increasingly difficult.
My next work is likely to be science fiction, a genre I love almost as much as fantasy.
Best wishes and sain thee,
Cecilia
Cecilia Dart-Thornton In the words of the poets - LOL. I say "lol' because you posed your question 5 years ago and here it languishes, unanswered. My apologies! I wasn't really aware this Q&A thing existed. I've been over on Substack writing a blog.

My summer reading list five years ago was probably as random as it is this year, mainly focusing on old favourites such as almost anything by Tanith Lee. Also a new one, "The King's Shilling" by Sydney Acorn might be worth a look.
I recently re-read Anne of Green Gables and was entranced by Lucy Maud Montgomery's beautiful observations of the seasons and landscapes of King Edward Island, which made me want to go there.

Thank you for your question!
Sain thee,
Cecilia
Cecilia Dart-Thornton I'd like to oblige, but the horror genre is not my forte. If I was feeling pessimistic I might use the two sentences to point out the similarities between Real Life and a horror story, but I prefer to escape from RL into worlds of Fantasy and Sci-fi.
Or, I might write, "One day, all the world's books disappeared. Aaargh." (Does "Aargh" count as a sentence?)
Cecilia Dart-Thornton The mystery of how I got lost on a country road. . . It appears that roads have minds of their own. They can appear and disappear at whim. And sometimes you'll see the leafy entrance to a half-hidden road that you just know must lead to Elfland.
Cecilia Dart-Thornton I would go directly to Middle Earth, no question. The time period would be during the events of The Fellowship of the Ring. I would seek out all my favourite characters and talk to them. I would tour each and every part of Middle Earth - providing, of course, I could be immune to orcs and balrogs and unseen by The Eye of Sauron. Thanks for the question!
