Troy Osgood Inspiration comes from everywhere. For Taleweaver's, it's specific scenes that pop into my head for whatever reason and build around those. Or a sentence in the book that leads off to other roads. New stuff can be anything. Developing a new concept based off gargoyles that came about from looking at one on a building one day.
Troy Osgood Taking these ideas in my head and giving them form and shape.
Troy Osgood A random encounter in a video game. I had a variation of the opening scene in mind and when playing the game and came across these random skeletons in an area that made no sense for skeletons to be there, the idea for the book just grew from that.
Troy Osgood What am I not? I currently am working on the next two offerings in The Taleweaver's Song family, a short story called The Gnoll Tracks and the next novel, The Orc Plains. I jump into other Taleweaver's Song books as the mood takes me and have six or so started. I'm working on 3 or 4 projects for Kindle Worlds. I have a couple proposals and shorts sending out to a couple anthologies and there are a couple stand alone novels in various stages.
Troy Osgood Write, write, write and don't be afraid. Take a chance and push ahead.
Troy Osgood I get writer's block often, usually about mid-way through. I just move onto another project and give some time away which allows me to think through the issues in the story that are creating the block.
