Hi Ayube - Often you can ask a bookstore (especially one in a natural history museum) if they can order a copy in for you. If not, it looks like MightyApe ship to Canada https://www.mightyape.com.au/product/.... If that doesn't work let me know and I'll organise a quote to post you a copy. I'm sorry there is no ebook version of this book available. Cheers Danielle

I'm currently working on two book manuscripts. The first is an illustrated children's book on Australian fossils. Because palaeoart is so specialised, the text needs to be written around the images that are available. Since I normally write adult non-fiction, writing for children is a great challenge that I really enjoy - especially in a topic like palaeontology which has such a specialised terminology and often very knowledgeable young readers. Museum Victoria will publish this book in early 2018.
The second book is The Wasp and the Orchid, which is the story of Edith Coleman, a little known Australian nature writer and naturalist. She was quite famous in her lifetime but has been largely forgotten now. This book will be published by Picador in April/May 2018.

Read much more than you write and do a lot of both. Persist.

Generally I set myself a regular time slot for writing (usually first thing in the morning) and I write until I've completed a word count (1000 words). It doesn't matter if it's good or bad, just so long as it's written. The quicker I finish, the quicker I can go do something else! After a few days it gets much easier and the writing flows more smoothly. Sometimes though, the block might be caused by not knowing enough - then I might have to go and do some more reading instead.

Twenty years ago I was interviewing the curator of invertebrates at Museum Victoria about pollination when he mentioned Edith Coleman. He told me she was a nature writer who had discovered pseudocopulation in orchids. I didn't know what that was, so I had to go and find out and I was immediately fascinated by the story of this Melbourne housewife who'd suddenly become internationally famous among botanists for her work on orchids that mimic female wasps so that male wasps will mate with them and pollinate their flowers. It was a remarkable story that I've been carrying for a long time but I didn't know if anyone else would be interested until Geordie Williamson, then editor at Picador insisted that I send him the details. He convinced me that this was not just an obscure nature story, but a story about a remarkable woman who carved out her own career against the prevailing views of the time.
