Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm just seeing this now. As for your question, I'm currently focused on THE HUNTERS movie. Once that wraps, I'll figure what I'm going to work on next.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm just seeing this now. I honestly have no idea what you are referring to. I don't remember ever making any comments about themes, and I would never be purposefully disrespectful of readers or writers. Are you sure you aren't thinking of someone else?
Chris Kuzneski
Thanks. I appreciate it!

Thanks, Raegan. I appreciate the kind words. Right now my main focus is THE HUNTERS movie. I recently signed a new option deal with Hollywood, so I'm focused on that at the moment. Once that project is on firmer ground, I'll figure out what I'm going to work on next. In the meantime, thanks for spreading the word about my books!

My manuscript is due tomorrow, and I haven't started it yet. Aaaaaaaagh!

Good question. I definitely liked her character in THE PLANTATION and felt she had great chemistry with Jonathon Payne, but I'm trying to stay out of their love life. If they want to get back together, it's totally up to them. :)

Last week I signed a new deal for THE HUNTERS movie, so my current focus is getting the film back on track (pun intended).

Wow. That's nice to hear. Mark Greaney is an incredible writer! As for your question, my books are international thrillers, so I doubt I'll ever write a book that is strictly set in Florida. However, several of my books have had scenes in Florida. THE LOST THRONE starts in St. Pete before it heads elsewhere. And in the Hunters series, their home base is located in Fort Lauderdale, so I've had a number of scenes in the southern part of the Sunshine State.

Hey Sue -- I just checked the price on Amazon (U.S.), and it's listed as $9.99. That's five dollars less than the new books by Lee Child, John Sandford, and Michael Connelly, which were released in the past month. So it sounds like my book is actually a bargain! Hope you like it, Chris K.

It will be available as an audio book eventually, but not on the official release date of November 9. Dick Hill recently retired, so we're trying to find someone to fill his shoes -- and that has proven to be difficult. Once I know more, I'll be sure to post the news on: chriskuzneski.com.

Good question. Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer. My next novel, THE MALTA ESCAPE, is book #9 in the Payne & Jones series. Right now it has all my focus. It will be released next month on November 9, followed by a well-earned vacation!

Sorry for the delay in my response. For some reason I'm just seeing this question now even though it was posted six months ago. Thank you for the kind words about my writing. I truly appreciate it!
As for your question, BEFORE THE STORM (the first entry in the HUNTERS: ORIGINS series) is a novella, so it was way too short to publish as a print book. As for the ebook quality, I use a great designer so the book should be professional quality.

I don't want to give away my plans, but I purposely placed the two series in the same universe for a specific reason. Although the cameos have been a lot of fun, they also serve a purpose: to stress the connections between my series characters. And if there are connections....

All of my novels are available as audio books in North America. In the UK, my last four books (THE HUNTERS, THE EINSTEIN PURSUIT, THE FORBIDDEN TOMB, and THE PRISONER'S GOLD) are available as audio books. Unfortunately, my first seven novels (the rest of the Payne & Jones series) were published by Penguin UK, and they opted to release them as paperbacks only. If you're lucky, perhaps you can track down the U.S. audio of my early books from the States.

Darren, check out audible.com. Most if not all of his books are available there. And Dick Hill does a fantastic job as the narrator.

Over the years I've received thousands of messages, some of which were heartbreaking. I certainly don't write my books to "heal the world" as one fan put it, but it warms my heart to think that my writing has helped someone get through a difficult time. Thanks for letting me know!

Right now my focus is on the Hunters movie, which is set to start filming later this year. Once that wraps, I'll start working on my next book. That said, I'm not sure if it will be book #4 in the Hunters series or book #9 in the Payne & Jones series. As soon as I know, I'll be sure to post it on my website: chriskuzneski.com. (P.S. I'm thrilled you loved The Prisoner's Gold!)

Good question. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer. We're supposed to start filming later this year, which would enable us to release the film in 2017. But I'm told the movie business is very unpredictable, so I can't give you an exact date yet. As soon as I know, I'll be sure to post it on my website: www.chriskuzneski.com.

Practice is the main thing, without a doubt. I've literally written millions of words since I wrote THE PLANTATION, so my skill level was bound to improve. Then, when you factor in the guidance and expertise of my editors, agent, and other authors, I had no choice but to get better.
That said, THE PLANTATION is still one of my favorite books -- and one of the most popular.

None that leap to mind, but I will say this: my favorite part of writing is the humor. I totally crack myself up -- especially late at night after a long day of writing. That's normally when I come up with my best/most absurd stuff. Sadly my critics don't find me nearly as funny as I find myself....
